The YPP .... our very own super heroes!!!

Over the past two years the Volunteer Centre North Ayrshire was host to the North Ayrshire Young People’s Panel, a project funded by the Big Lottery.  The panel was made up of 10 young people from the local area who got a major say in which youth projects in North Ayrshire received funding. Decisions were based on a list of local priorities aimed at funding projects that encouraged young people aged 11-25 to get involved in healthy and positive activities.Panel members received their SCQF in Participative Democracy from Adam Smith College as a result of their work with the panel (thats equivalent of a credit standard grade!) and all panel members picked up an MV Award at the 2007 Award Ceremony.

The project was a big success with over £500,000 being awarded to projects in North Ayrshire as a result of the panels recommendations.
