Face of Youth Volunteering
Congratulations to our 8 Faces of Youth Volunteering!!!

The Volunteer Centre recently completed a peice of research into Young People Volunteering in North Ayrshire. It was discovered that, although young people are interested in becoming involved and are aware of the benefits of volunteering, very often they dont know where to start or where to get the information they need.
Who better to ask about youth volunteering than young people themselves! Nearly 500 young people completed our survey on the Youngscot Website, telling us what they thought about volunteering, what information they would like, how they would like it presented and where they would like to find it. The results of the questionnaire, along with the stories and photographs of young volunteers, will be used to promote youth volunteering through a range of information materials specially designed for young people.
We had a great response from organisations and had great dificulty in narrowing our search down to the 8 young volunteers we needed. Our search ended with the selection of the 8 worthy young people who have displayed enormous dedication in the volunteering they do.
Following a focus group to gather the volunteers stories, photo shoots took place during June and July and the images created are in the process of having the finishing touches applied before they go on show in a special display for the Young Volunteers and their nominating organistions later this month.
The finished images will be displayed on this page following the launch of Face of youth Volunteering at the 2008 MV Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 4th November.
Thanks to all the organisations who nominated their young volunteers and a big thank you to all the young people who give their time readily to help their communities, keep up the good work!
Look out for the new marketing material for youth volunteering featuring our Faces of Youth Volunteering at the end of the year!
BECOME RICHER. WORK FOR NOTHING.
