Enabling Adults to Gain Employability Roles

The Eager project is specifically aimed at people who are currently unemployed and which aims to promote workplace skills through volunteering

 

The course lasts for 14 weeks and runs for approximately 2 ½ days a week. 6 weeks would be spent at the volunteer centre with the further 8 weeks at a volunteering placement of your choice. If you are currently volunteering this would count towards your placement.

Who can get involved in EAGER?

Anyone can get involved in volunteering however to meet the criteria for EAGER you must be one of the following:

• Currently unemployed

 

What training will I receive?

The six weeks spent with the volunteer centre will include:

• Introduction to Volunteering
• Steps to Excellence - a four day personal development course
• CV Building
• Interview Techniques
• Confidentiality and Volunteering
• Protection of Children Act

All of the above will take place in a relaxed atmosphere with all refreshments and lunches provided.

The course is extremely flexible to suit individual needs.

As well as enjoying yourself you would also be eligible for a £10 weekly allowance. Travel allowances are also payable on top of this. Payment of the weekly fee can be held back until the end of the course when you would receive a lump sum of £140.
